WELL ADZE-6D

The Adze 6D exploration well was drilled during 1963-64 within the NW flank of the Kuldiga oil deposit. The well was drilled as a delineation well in order to evaluate the results of drilling of the Adze 6 well. There was no coring in the Adze 6D well.

Oil flows were obtained during the testing in the Deimena Formation (M. Cambrian) sandstone and oolitic limestone of the U. Ordovician age. For technical reasons, no flow measurements in the M. Cambrian were conducted. Based on the log data, the thickness of the M. Cambrian oil-bearing horizon is 3.5 m. An oil flow from the oolitic limestone was obtained – 0.1 m3/day.

The Adze 6D well reached the depth of 1,143 m in the Pre-Cambrian basement.
