Bernati
area
The
third hydrocarbon Exploration and Production licence was issued on
November 11, 2009 for an area in the territory of the West Bernati
structure. The licensee: PS "Baltic Oil Corporation”. The
licence area comprises 17.28 ha and is situated in the Nica Parish.
Several wells were drilled
there in 1960s and 1980s. CDP
seismic investigations were carried out there (in 1986, 1987, 1990,
1992).
Small oil flows (0.13 m3/day) was obtained from
oil-bearing deposit - Top Ordovician (Saldus Formation) limestone.
From
Middle Cambrian sandstone within West Bernati structure, which is the
main target horizon, a water flow was obtained.
