Onshore
hydrocarbon licensing
Since April 2003, it is possible to
obtain the licence for
onshore hydrocarbon prospecting, exploration and production.
Three
onshore hydrocarbon Exploration and Production licences
(Kuldiga, Liepaja and Beranati structure area) and one hydrocarbon Prospecting licence (Kuldiga
structure area) were issued in 2006. Prospecting licence is not
valid any longer.
The
first hydrocarbon E & P licence was issued on May 8, 2006 for an
area in the territory of the Liepaja structure. The licence area
comprises 162.3 ha and is situated in the Dunalka Parish and the Durbe
County, Liepaja District.
The second licence of June 30, 2006 for hydrocarbon E
& P was issued for an area in the Gudenieki Parish, Kuldiga District.
The licence area comprises 116.01 ha and incorporates a part of the
Kuldiga oil deposit discovered in 1960s.
The
third licence of
November 11, 2009 for hydrocarbon E & P was issued in the territory
of the West Bernati structure in
the Nica Parish.
