Offshore seismic data

A total of approximately 24,500 km of CDP seismic lines have been acquired from 1976 to 1991. Practically all of the Latvian offshore area has been covered by the 2x2 km seismic grid, except the shallowest nearshore areas. Curently seismic data are stored at the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Agency as original field records in the international SEG-Y format.

These seismic data available to the oil industry for purchase and inspection are listed below.

Note: some of the listed seismic data could be unavailable, because they have been lost or damaged.

2D OBC

Southern Central shelf (E5 and E6 area)

* JSC Kaliningradgeofizika carried out 2D Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC) seismic investigations in the E5 and E6 structure area in August 2006 based on the order of the licensee Odin Energi A/S. Those data will not be available from LEGMC until Autumn 2011, since the owner (Odin Energi A/S) of the data has assigned the status of limited access to the data.

Notes:

The lines of 1976 and 1977 vintages are of relatively low quality.

The seismic data (marked in grey on the map) are from the disputed area  between Latvia and Lithuania.

The basemap for offshore seismic lines is also enclosed. The scale is 1:100,000. offhore_seismic_baseMap.pdf

Note: some of the seismic lines shown on the map could be unavailable, because they have been lost or damaged.
